DOCUFY takes over AI specialist Theum AG

DOCUFY GmbH, a leading provider of software solutions for technical documentation, announces the acquisition of Theum AG. With this strategic move, DOCUFY expands its expertise in the creation and management of technical content with Theum’s advanced AI-powered knowledge management technology. With this acquisition, DOCUFY positions itself not only as a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for technical editorial offices, but also in the processing and provision of content of all kinds. DOCUFY is thus strengthening its expertise in serving both medium-sized and large corporate customers with state-of-the-art solutions. The integration of Theum’s technologies enables DOCUFY to offer a comprehensive range of services, from knowledge creation and management to automated provision and precise retrieval of knowledge.

Bamberg, 11 September 2024 – DOCUFY GmbH from Bamberg has been on the market for over 25 years and, with its AI-supported technical content management system COSIMA, is one of the top dogs for software for optimising processes relating to the creation and use of product information (technical communication). Today, the solution portfolio includes the AI-supported, XML-based technical content management system (CCMS) COSIMA, software for the legally compliant creation of risk assessments for CE marking, tools for improving CAx data quality or analysing CAx data, a professional solution for electronic spare parts management and an innovative platform for the automated provision of company content for easy & convenient access with precise retrieval of required knowledge. With the acquisition of the KGU Group from Flensburg in January, DOCUFY has already expanded its expertise to include services relating to product lifecycle management (PLM) and Siemens Teamcenter®. With the acquisition of Theum AG, DOCUFY is now perfecting its range of solutions with an AI-supported knowledge management platform.

Theum® stands for fully automated knowledge management

Theum’s software is used successfully for knowledge management by companies and organisations such as Bertelsmann, Deutsche Rentenversicherung, Münchner Leukämie Labor, Siemens, Suez and Tektronix worldwide. International customers can benefit from the knowledge management platform in the areas of guidelines, standards, procedures, legal & compliance, online manuals, service and support information, risk management, maintenance instructions and much more. Theum can also be used for many other purposes such as onboarding, knowledge retention, help desks and customer enquiry systems. All Theum needs to create and update dedicated knowledge bases is read-only access to the relevant repositories where the documented content is stored.

Theum extracts this knowledge, breaks it down into the smallest elements such as paragraphs, images and tables, links them according to their determined relationships to each other and stores them in a vector-orientated manner. Ultimately, structured data is generated from unstructured content, which can be easily accessed via a modern web interface and precisely retrieved using a semantic search. Pre-selected content extracts for each search can be processed securely and in a controlled manner using generative AI if required. This means that even complex tasks are supported economically, fact-based and efficiently using state-of-the-art AI.

Users receive user-friendly knowledge portals with content from the various document silos and filing systems prepared according to their requirements – usable worldwide on all modern end devices with any standard browser.
