More clarity and less effort in risk assessment
The preparation of risk assessments is often associated with complex challenges: Legally compliant procedures and the required basic principles are often difficult to understand and extremely extensive. At the same time, recurring content means that information has to be maintained manually in many places, which ties up time and resources. DOCUFY Machine Safety helps you to simplify processes and manage content efficiently.

Your solutions at a glance
Our software offers you sophisticated solutions to meet the complex requirements for creating and managing risk assessments. From the consideration of current guidelines and standards to integrated functions such as data import and documentation synchronization – everything is designed to simplify your processes and ensure maximum legal certainty.

Risk assessment according to EN ISO 12100
Hazardous points on a machine are systematically determined in order to evaluate risks and confirm safety or identify the need for improvements.
-
Risk assessment according to requirements templates
If a harmonized C standard is available for your product, the creation process can be split between an expert and the designer. With DOCUFY Machine Safety, the designer can use a checklist to confirm the requirements or mark them as not applicable. Some points only need to be “ticked off”, while solutions can be added as required.
-
Combination of both methods
The designer is guided through the assessment process in a structured manner with the help of the software. If there are any remaining hazards, the assessment using the classic method (in accordance with EN ISO 12100) can be used at any time to supplement this.
-
Ignition hazard assessment in accordance with the ATEX directive
DOCUFY Machine Safety enables the efficient creation of ignition risk assessments in accordance with the ATEX Directive and can be adapted to the individual requirements of each manufacturer.
-
Risk analysis and assessment in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive
DOCUFY Machine Safety allows you to create risk analyses in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive and thus verify the electrical safety of your product. The procedure is based on CENELEC Guide 32 and EN ISO 12100. With the appropriate license option, you have the idea

Internationality despite local installation
Teamwork is also possible in large international teams thanks to the worldwide, cross-location use of the system with a central database. The simple management of to-dos makes teamwork fun. Display your own to-dos in the Navigator or generate a report of open items. This allows you to see at a glance where action is still required. And if no Internet connection is available, access can also be set up locally. This means you can also access your risk assessment data on the construction site in Dubai, for example.
-
Fast and convenient working with the special software
The user interface is clear and almost self-explanatory: hardly any training or familiarization time is required, and even after a longer interruption a quick start is possible – ideal for “occasional users”.
The special software thinks for itself. For example, an interactive context list with relevant modules provides support. Drag-and-drop and the use of favorites make it possible to compile the assessment with just a few clicks.
By configuring roles and rights, everyone can concentrate on the areas for which they are responsible. The constantly visible context-sensitive help provides further information on the current topic. -
Cooperation between operating instructions and risk assessment
DOCUFY Machine Safety is based on the core program architecture of the COSIMA technical documentation system. Both systems can be operated on a common database. This means that safety instructions, warning and information signs, personnel qualifications and personal protective equipment used in the risk assessment can be easily transferred to the instructions created with COSIMA go! This combination of operating instructions and risk assessment helps to avoid errors when transferring relevant content from the risk assessment to the instructions. The user is supported here by the display of a view that shows which of the relevant contents have not yet been transferred to the instructions. The free text field “Information for the operating instructions/user documentation” also enables information from the risk assessment software to be transferred to the technical writer.
-
Legal compliance in the event of damage
In the event of damage, the risk assessment is a fundamentally important document with which the manufacturer can and must prove the CE conformity of the product. The verification documents created with DOCUFY Machine Safety guarantee the greatest possible safety and can avert existential company risks in the event of damage.
The CE conformity of the products is documented in a legally compliant manner. Compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive and EN ISO 12100 is guaranteed, as is the automatic updating of standard headers. Internal standard head management ensures that your standards are managed in the best possible way. Working with the professional software reduces the risk of liability (compliance), as every risk assessment can be created in accordance with EN ISO 12100.
At the same time, it is guaranteed that the formal requirements are also met at all times, as the creation of each risk assessment follows the suggested iterative process of the Machinery Directive (including SISTEMA interface for documenting the performance level).
-
Saving valuable engineer work
The special software guides you through the entire CE marking process in a structured and speedy manner and supports the legally compliant creation of risk assessments during the design phase: Expensive, subsequent protective devices for risk reduction are no longer necessary, as these can be prevented by design. Thanks to the modular nature of the software, the same content only needs to be entered once and can then be reused and/or combined (e.g. [partial] assessments of assemblies, copy templates for recurring risks, warning notices, personal protective equipment, etc.). Ideally, this is done in the same way as the reuse of assemblies in design. Time-consuming searches are no longer necessary – all relevant standards, guidelines, lists of hazardous substances, etc. are stored centrally in the system and can be called up or used again at the click of a mouse if required. Clear and comprehensible verification documents such as declarations of conformity or installation declarations are generated as PDFs at the touch of a button.
-
Constant monitoring of important data
The central storage of all relevant data enables quick and direct access, e.g. to standard headers, EC directives, hazardous substances and their safety data sheets, photos and drawings for visualizing hazardous points, SISTEMA data in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13849, etc. Changes (e.g. to standards) are also recorded centrally and incorporated into all relevant risk assessments – this means minimal effort for up-to-dateness and maximum safety. Thanks to seamless traceability with the help of sophisticated version management, all changes made by all users are visible at all times, even parallel to the design.
-
Target group-specific information output
The information from the risk assessment can be used in several ways across departments. This is why DOCUFY Machine Safety offers you a range of overviews in addition to the actual document output of the risk assessment. These present the information contained in the risk assessment in different ways. The total of 15 possible overviews include notes for the operating instructions or user documentation, hazard types, residual risks, safety instructions, assemblies and responsibilities as well as signage. The overviews are generated from DOCUFY Machine Safety as printable HTML pages.
-
Data on the secure side
The special software is available as a web application immediately after installation on your server at all workstations throughout the company. This enables you to easily integrate all the necessary people into the risk assessment and CE marking process. A well thought-out concept for managing roles and rights ensures that users only have access to the areas for which they are responsible. Your important design data is protected in the software and does not leave your company. DOCUFY Machine Safety can be easily integrated into your company’s internal safety network.
